What difference does a Caesarean make to the microbiome?

Don't forget that some babies absolutely need to be born by caesarean, (in which case steps can be taken to help to seed the microbiome) but evidence suggests that optimum seeding of the microbiome comes from a home vaginal birth and breastfeeding.

However your baby needs to be born make sure you have the microbiome in mind! Talk to your Antenatal Teacher and Midwife about maximising seeding at birth.
